Today we live in a fast-paced health conscious society, always seeking alternatives in consuming food on-the-run. Cereal companies are marketing ‘snack bars’. Beverage companies produce single serving drinks in cartons with additives and preservatives. Natural juices play a major role in a balanced diet. The juicer I’m using in the photo is of an older model. I’m making carrot juice here in a matter of minutes (about 1lb = 1 cup of juice). I often double the recipe; pouring remaining juice into a container, refrigerate for maximum of 2 days, shake well before serving. There is no waste, save and freeze pulp in small plastic bags label and date them. You add saved pulp to soups, stews and even cake recipes creating a unique taste everytime!

Have your friends bring over an assortment of their favorite fresh fruits or vegetables. As the host provide your “signature” natural fruit punch with fruit ice cubes and herbs for juice flavoring.
